MY STORY

I am a multimedia journalist, podcast producer, storyteller and presenter working across radio and digital for SBS News in Sydney, mainly producing local stories on a range of social issues, as well as producing daily national and international news and podcast specials.

I started my career at community station Radio Skid Row in the 1990s and have worked professionally since 2003.

My work has picked up a couple awards in Australia and internationally - most recently a 2022 New York Radio Festival Award for Change Agents a podcast series I created. Other commendations include a Luminous Award in 2014, two Older People Speak Out awards in 2010 and 2018, a Third Coast Audio Festival award and a New York Radio Festival Award for a report on child migrants in Greece.

I've also been a finalist in many other awards.

I have worked across all parts of audio production from live radio to podcasting, producing everything from long-form audio documentaries, miniseries to lifestyle segments. Along with SBS my work has also been broadcast on WBEZ in Chicago, WNYZ and the ABC.

I also spent a number of years as a television reporter for SBS World News.

In 2019, I was proud to be selected as a judge for the Walkey mid-year awards and I was also a professional mentor for the foundation.

At SBS I regularly train cadets and interns in audio news production and voice techniques. I've also taught audio production at Macquarie University.

For 10 years I presented English language news program SBS World News Radio and still regularly present online audio stories and news bulletins for SBS News as well as voice over promos for SBS Radio and TV.
